    T-10 side cover 58

How difficult is it to take off the side cover and then put it back on, any one with a 58 side cover? Thanks, Brad.

VERY easy. Have a new gasket ready, though.

      Brad -

Put it in second gear first so the 1-2 shift fork clears the opening in the case coming out and going back in.

Nothing will "spring out" when the bolts and cover are removed. On the rear of the cover are the shifter shafts and the shifter forks as well as a detent mechanism with spring. These can be easily removed from the cover and easily re-installed. Check the forks; they often show considerable wear and, if so, require replacement.
