    Radiator cap gasket

Found a mint original 307 radiator cap for my 63. Lost my original one 3 years ago and finally gave up looking.

Where can I buy a couple of new black gaskets for a radiator cap? Thanks, John

There is a guy in Ohio (I'm hoping someone remembers) that rebuilds these...

      John,

A few years ago at Carlisle I bought a AC RC-2 cap to mine both the sealing gasket and larger gasket that goes just under the top.

Very easy job to gently lift the vacuum vent and install the new sealing gasket as well as the larger top gasket and the cap works perfect. I think it's the best way to find the correct parts, I may have paid 2 or 5 dollars for the cap I can't remember..

Hi Jimmy, do any of your 307 caps have the 'circle' around the 307? Thanks,

Hi Jimmy, Nice to see I am so popular to quote my friend Peter Lindahl.
All of a seldom several of you are sending me gaskets for my newly acquired original 307.
How nice it is to be a member of such a fine organization.
Now maybe just someday I will find where I stashed the original cap but can't worry about it anymore.
My thanks go out to John Messinger, Robert Jorjorian, and John Messinger. ALL are sending me gaskets. Whew!!!!
                      Tru story. Old JD

JD - Sounds like a step up to me from the FI Guy to the radiator cap gasket KING. You've come a long way in. Pete

None of the originals I have have a circle. John pirkle , Carlton C. and I had a conversation and concluded that we THINK no originals had a circle. I can send photos if you are interested. I would post photos but I have no idea how to do that.

Jimmy - If the 3 of you decided there was no "circle" around the 307 stamping how come some 307s have a "circle" or part of one around the 307 stamping? Inquiring minds want to know. This isn't related to the mounting of the 63 Corvette horns, is it? I love this hobby. Pete
