I just ran across an ad from oldchevydocumentation.com which specializes in exact reproduction Chevrolet/Corvette build sheets, window stickers, etc...utilizing an aged process. I have to admit they sure look good, down to the paper nibs on the top and bottom and paper of correct size and type. I am thinking this means that forensic review may now be required to verify if these documents are for real. This should not affect NCRS judging as you don't need to provide this documentation, but it gives more reason to be even more critical of what seems to be authentic. Where will this ever end, especially with non-authentic big blocks?

Re: Reproduction Paperwork
A good digital loupe attached to your computer when looking at this stuff will get you a first level rejection as the technology is different that 50 years ago, and then the aging process is accomplished with (or used to be) chemicals and those can be detected. If they are smart enough to have access to a technique I won't post...well lets just say there is probably another way to detect the fake but it takes a higher magnification and I'm not posting that since we know they are looking on this public forum.
You might recall my post regarding the 66 owners manuals that were 'reproduced' way back when. Yes they look old because they now are, but if you have access to a real one... carbon dating is the ultimate comparator.- Top
