If Centari is still a current product, I would expect any DuPont Automotive Refinish dealer to either stock it or be able to get it for you

I was at the local PPG dealer last week. A body shop was getting two gallons of red in one of the 2K products. Over $1,400 with the trade discount. I would be scared to see what they charge Joe Q Walkin for it.

You can't buy it in California but you may be able yo get it in other states,

I found acrylic enamel which was an equal to centari in Montana.

Reguardless of what you hear about mixing them with other brands, They all mix.

in the 80's & 90's when the paint was VERY expensive to dispose of, I picked short cans (left over) from body shops to paint my radio controll airplanes.

I could mix acme, ditzler, dupont and other brands together to get the color I wanted and all the hardners worked with each brand.

You could also spray it using laquer thinner.

I still have 5 and he paint is still glossy.

I don't recomend doing this on a car but it works.

Point being is that you may find what you want in a different brand in another state.

I got some from a paint store in Illinois a few years back along with getting ditzler in Bozeman MT.

California is ignorant to paint and if you cant drink the left over paint they outlaw it.

You mix different brands when painting a car, you have a problem, you might as well call Ghost Busters for technical assistance, because manufacturers will not stand behind their products when used in conjunction with another manufacturers products

If you read my post I said I didn't recomend it.

They do ALL mix very well if you want to paint equipment or as I stated "model airplanes".

All manufacturers ALWAYS say not to mix products, but if you know what your working with you can do what ever you like with good results.

It has lasted for 30 years on my planes and equipment, better than some factory paint!

You are right they won't stand behind it, they never did.

At best they would replace a can of paint, but the fault ALWAYS fell on the painter.

In all my years I never heard of them standing behind a paint job.

When I was in fleet maintenance, Dupont stood behind several paint jobs, paid labor and furnished materials. They had a faulty run of Imron or primer, I cannot remember which. Amounted to several thousand dollars.

Nice to hear that, sounds lile you had some klout and did lots of businiss with them.

I was not so fortunate with a paint job on MY OWN VETTE.

I wanted it perfect back in 71 so I bought one of the first 2 part primers.

It was not epoxy as you added drops per ounce to the primer.

It was good to be used under acrylic laquer.

It was beautiful for 6 mos then it came off in sheets.

There was a white powder growing under the paint and when I sent a sample in each blamed the other.

In a follow up call Morton (the brand) said that tha catalyst might have been old.

They said if you shake the tube and it becomes milky collored it is old.

Well the tube was long gone (used).

Ditzler vs Morton eliminator (work horse).

I lost a paint job and put the vette away for 35 years.

Thank God the products have changed.

This past spring I purchased (Red) PPG deltron 2000 and all of the goodies (1.5 gal base, 1.5 gal clear, Jam clear, hardener, etc.) that go with it and it cost about $1700. That did not include the previous costs for the primers, etc, of about $800.
