    C1 Rocker Panel Support...Sad News

    Not easily found but good news is that replacement is available and both sides will be fixed...Can't says enough good things about the boys at Carrs Corvette in Plano,Tx....Very straight forward and efficient.

    Jerry, I recently restored a 60 that had the same damage. I had to have a local sheet metal shop fabricate the new ones useing what was left of the old ones as a guide being the parts aren't reproduced.

        When I think about it, it probably has been 2-3 years since I did that car. I couldn't find them available then. Great to hear they are now.

          On my 59 the rocker panel supports are aluminum.

            I am in the process of replacing my rocker panel supports (see prev post: https://www.forums.ncrs.org/showthre...=5244#poststop ). I purchased them several years ago from Corvette Central and they are still available. I have not seen them reproduced in aluminum. Since the supports are being replaced "the boys" should also check and/or replace the body mounts behind the seats. The rivets at the upper rear of the rocker supports go through the body and secure those body mounts also. Here are some photos of the original and replacement mount (d/s) behind the seat.
