    1970 to 72 LT-1 Air Cleaner base

I would like to thank all the people who sent photos and added information to the last Thread. But would like additional information on this question.

The original question was if your known or you are some what sure your air cleaner base is original to the car. What direction is the right side breather tube pointing toward the valve cover or pointing toward the heater box.

I would ask that information on Service Parts, other GM model lines and LS6 be excluded as that information is great those items may have never been used in production for the LT-1 Corvette. So if you have a 70-72 LT-1 if you have a photo of the tube direction or just a description and if you could also add the month the car was produced that would be of great help.

So far we have seen in the few cars that were in the last Thread it appears to be mixed in 70 some pointing to the cover and others pointing to the heater. In 71 and 72 all so far point toward the valve cover.

    Thank You

The bottom line was that my original air cleaner base for my 70 LT-1 s/n 14297, July 3 build date had the pipe pointing toward the valve cover.

And my Jan 29 (A29) points to the valve cover.

I am more than somewhat sure it is the part the UAW installed at St Louis.

Please to all LT-1 owners we need you input to help us make a good judgement on possibly how many configuration of bases were used.
