    '70 Brake Calipers

My car, a "barn find" type of thing, is missing two calipers (from pass side, both front/rear). I can't get to the driver's side as the car doesn't run and is parked, for the moment, against a wall, too close to jack up (but not too close to squeeze past). If I could, I'd read the casting numbers from those calipers, but they may be incorrect anyway. Don't know yet.

So, I'm rooting around for the proper calipers. My research so far tells me I need the "second design" calipers with the following casting numbers:

    Front inner: 5452270
    Front outer: 5452273
    Rear inner: 5452281
    Rear outer: 5452284

I didn't find any from another car on the 'Net, but I did find SSBC sells refurb'd units, and possibly with these very casting numbers (if I request them, which I would, and assuming they have any).

Anyone know if these numbers are correct, and anyone ever purchase calipers from a vendor and have them judged as correct?

Those are the correct numbers for a 1970.

Almost any rebuilder can get you the correct number calipers, and Lonestar Caliper even makes them brand new, allegedly from the original molds.

        Ken,

I purchased mine from Brian at Bair's Corvette in PA. They are just GREAT people to deal with. I've purchase 3-other sets from them over the years and always consistant.
