New Seat Covers Who to use ?

Well it has been 42 years , one 48 state trip, and one trip to Novi, and my rear end, the one that comes into the house with me, can not sit in my tired old seats anymore

I do not want to do the job myself, as my hands do not work like they used to , and frankly , I don't think I can do a good job.

So , I want to send them out to a seat vendor. I have two in mind, but look for your comments.

If any of you have done it before, let me know who you used and how you packed your seats etc.

I just finished the suspension, new ball joints, shocks, u-joints, bushings, springs. New PS valve, hoses etc

The car now handles like a new 66 corvette, that is the good news, the bad news is , it handles like a new 66 corvette

just kidding....... with all this new stock stuff, the car handles great, nice and tight, reliable with a soft comfortable ride. These cars are great driving cars if you understand that it is not a modern car.

Only seats, new top and windshield and the car is good to go for 30 or 40 thousand miles before I have to start again. My engine rebuild (2010) (original engine with 200,000 plus miles) already has 30,000 miles on it, and it is running like a clock. All stock and starts every time so far.

I am still looking at Europe for a trip next year. Need to juggle things time wise , plus a lot of logistics to deal with.

Fall is here and a great time to be driving your cars, so get driving

and thanks for the seat vendor comments

    Jack,
I had Al Knock do my 66 seats at the Knoxville Expo several years ago and have had no issues to complain about. I forget what the guy's name was who did them but he sure made it look easy. See if you can arrange an install job at a show and save the bucks on shipping.

Al Knock is the leader in the industry. As Peter said, you can have them done at a major show with a reservation by Al. Good luck, Don H.

Corvette America will recover your seats. Contact them and send the old seats and they will return all done ready to stick in the car. They will replace any bad looking hardware. Of course extra cost.

Work and covers are beautiful and comfortable. New seat cushions does the trick.

Here's another vote for Corvette America. I've used their products in many cars and have never had a problem. Their products are second to none and their customer service is the best.

It seems like everybody in our chapter is going with Corvette America. And all are very pleased with the results. All types of seats c1's, c2's, and c3's have been done for our guys. They are always offering some kind of discount.

i had contacted Al Knoch a few weeks ago for price quotations for a new set of seats and redoing my existing seats on my '54. Prices weren't cheap, but they seemed fair.

I contacted Corvette Central for a quote and they told me that for complete seats, they buy from Al Knoch.

i just contacted Corvette America about pricing for two complete sets of seats for my '54. They told me that they don't do seats for my model year.

so for my application, i'm going back to Al Knoch to buy my seats.

                Jack,

I chose Corvette America through Willcox (covers, foams, hardware, etc.) for my 1974. These are "leather-like" and I am pleased with them. The price was very reasonable.

I drove a 1967 from 2003-2008 and also used Corvette America covers.
