    Delco Remy coils

I viewed a recent post on a 202 DR coil and so I took out one from a '66 that I have and compared it to a 287 B-R coil. I did not want to jump in on his thread, so I started this with some pics and questions.

The DR font on my 287 is smaller than the 202, is that correct?

Should the finish be gloss black? The 202 seems to be. Was the coil casing painted upside down as my 202 has drip/runs down the side. And finally, are these coils dated? The 202 has a small 16 embossed on the top near the neg terminal. Thanks, slow day here I guess.

Gloss black was normal, I can't speak to the size of the rolled numbers, in the picture they appear very similar and there ar normal variables when rolling a number int thin metal. The number on the phenolic is most likely a cavity number from the molding process used to produce the insert that is crimped into the can.
