Doing the conversion to a dual meter unit is NOT the problem-------------the problem is locating the parts-----------------at less than an astronomical price!!!!!!!!! The main part that I need is a COMPLETE 62 air meter.

        Tom,
I look for this stuff in a lot of strange place out here in California. I actually see things at pretty fair prices sometimes.
I just bought a complete unit, with the distributor and all, (no air cleaner of course) about eighteen months ago for $3000. It turned out to be a very nice unit. The only thing wrong with it, was a few pieces of the choke were missing.
All I can tell you is I will keep my eyes open for you. If I find something, I will send the the e-mail address or phone number where it is, so you can make the deal money wise.
Before you work anything out with prices, I will be glad to go take a look at it before you buy it to see what shape it really is in. It might cost you a beer sometime.
EDIT: I actually paid $3,500 for the unit. I went back and looked it up to make sure because I would have been a lot happier if I had paid $3000 for it. Just wanted to clear that up. Too many number running around in the head. Is this what getting older feels like? (LOL)

Michael, Nice pic of the proto baseplate part number. When I bought the FI unit that came with that baseplate, at first I thought someone had bubba'd the part number area and welded-up a 62 baseplate...I didn't think Winters would have put out a part that looked like that or that Chevrolet would have accepted it.

After some of the comments below, I'm wondering if the 1925 unit (that came to me with the proto baseplate), might have originally been a dealer replacement for one of the early units Monti is seeking here.

The distributor that was in the picture is from a non FI car. Here's a better shot of the unit.
