96 Build Date

How can I find the actual build date for my 96 collector edition??I have the NCRS build sheet and window sticker.The date on top of the build sheet says 4/16/96 and then in pen, lower on the sheet next to the dealer,it says 4/24/96!!My problem is when I checked the build date on the motor it says V0424ZXA,and the rear VIN stamp is correct for my VIN!!What's wrong with this picture!!??I hope I'm missing something!!Thanks for any info!!Nick B

For my 95, the build sheet is dated 12-1-94. We saw the body come out of paint area on Dec. 9th. Engine was stamped in BG with Vin on Dec. 9th at 9:40am. Was last car off line on Friday, Dec. 9th. Delivered to car carrier on Thursday, Dec. 15, Left BG on Dec 20th, delivered to dealer in IN on Dec. 21. GM MCO is dated 12-13-94. My motor is V1206ZUC. The date on the build sheet doesn't really mean anything as to actual build. It is date GM released the car to BG to be built I suppose. Actual build date is sort of chance as to what day it came off line?

Thanks for the info. Ken!!So, does this mean ,in your case, that the engine only took 3 days to get from Flint to BG and installed in the car??WOW!!

Check out the decal on the drivers door. It will have a MFG date in the upper left hand corner. That will tell you the date your car was built. Your date should be 4/96 if your car was bulit in April 1996. This date is the one the judge would use to judge your car.

I did forget to mention that the sticker on the door does say 04/96.I guess I was trying to find out the exact date in april that it rolled off the line.It must be after the 24th.I didn't realize that the car build date would be so close to the engine build date!!Thanks !!

You are just the man I need!!!I bought my car in Fla.,drove it home to NH. this past memorial day weekend and the x-owner gave me an invoice from YOUR DEALERSHIP,BUDS CHEVROLET!!!(I'm so excited,I can hardly type!!!OMG!!!)Anyway,The VIN#is1G1YY32P9T5116854,invoice#1ID03012662with a due date of5/10/96 dealer:00-186.I never looked at the date on this invoice before today!!(forgot all about it)When I saw your info.,there was a plastic BUDS CHEVROLET sticker stuck under the hood!!THANKS SOOO MUCH IF YOU CAN HELP!!
