Operating instructions for a Sun 404 Distributor Machine??

Hi Folks - This Wednesday I'll get a Model 404 Sun Distributor Machine I bought off Ebay. It doesn't have a manual with it.

Anyone either familiar with using the 404, or have an instruction manual who could help me get started? (I'll mail order an instruction manual CD also from Ebay, but doubt I'll be able to resist taking the machine for a "test spin" as soon as I get it home.)

Useful things would be items like: Start-up shut down proceedures, items to be calibrated/sequence (dwell reading?), any important do's and dont's, etc, etc.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

You calibrate the dwell meter by cliping the two leads together. The rest is pretty much straight forward. Hmmmm. I believe it is the engine analyzer that has two leads, the 404 has just one. Ground that lead to the ground terminal on the clamp. Then adjust the dwell meter.

Thanks Guys!!!! That's exactly what I needed.

It's almost midnite and I'm just home after logging about 1400 miles since 3 pm yesterday.....I'm off to bed. (My 61 year old butt just can't take these road trips like it used to.) Maybe I'll dream about my 'new' Sun machine....
