Re: Attention 1968 Convertible Owners
According to the AIM it looks like the addition of the convertible bracing was occurring late Jan., Feb or on into March and probably showed up sometime shortly after my Mar 8th car. I do have a welded in nut (item 17, added in the 4/4/68 AIM). I also have an original AIM that shows up to the 3/28/68 change and it has no nut 17 to hold the brace, so it would be hard to have the brace without this nut. My (13417) car (with A/C, C60) had the nut for the brace (see picture) welded in, probably for the upcoming bracing but shows no other evidence of the brace. The paint in the nut was not worn and the there are no other accompanying brackets or bracing to support the braces.

Re: Attention 1968 Convertible Owners
#320 would have a trim tag date of B12 - the 4th week of production. A slow start to 1968 MY, but 320 is a pretty early car still.Terry- Top

Re: Attention 1968 Convertible Owners
We have received some very good information from responses to this question. We need to hear about cars built during March 1968. Please respond if you have information on those.
If you do not wish to post the VIN online, email Mark Donnally, Terry McManmon or me privately.
Thanks for your help.- Top
