Attention 1968 Convertible Owners

For the 1968-69 Technical Information and Judging Guide, we need owners of 1968 convertibles built between August 1967 and June 1968 to answer the following questions regarding the under dash area (Refer to Section 10 in the judging guide, Brace Rods paragraph) If you do not want to post VIN, email me privately. Thank you, as always.


1) Does your car have or show evidence of the braces? one long and one short or only
the long one?
2) If they are present, what is the finish ?
3) Is it air conditioned or non-AC?
4) What is serial number and build date of the car?

I have vin #00320 but don't have any judging information pictures to locate the braces your referring to. I'd be happy to get you some pics, just let me know where they are. My car only has 30K miles and hasn't seen much of Bubba.

Let's see if this file size is small enough.

Sheet A6.6 shows the braces Mark is asking about, and sheet A6.5 shows the brackets they attach to.

BTW: The checkmarks by the part numbers are on my original. I did not make them, and I have no idea what they mean.

...has three braces, semi-gloss black, driver's side is about half the size(diameter)of the passenger side.

...also has a brace as big in circumference as the passenger side "tunnel" brace, but this one is perfectly horizontal to the floor of the car and it's up at where the passenger side footwell carpet ends. Anyone else have this "horizontal" passenger side brace?

Terry, none missing. Posted before I opened these up to view. Mine has all four. My apologies for the confusion.
