1965 Telescopic Steering Column

A question for anyone who has '65 Telescopic column knowledge:
How much rotation in the steering wheel before the turn signal cancels?
My column has been rebuilt with all new parts using the 1965 shop manual supplement and before I rebuilt it I was never aware of how much rotation was required to cancel the signals, currently to cancel it needs a little less than 3/4 of a turn and I think this might be too much? Is it the reproduction cancelation cam parts I used or is there something I am missing. Any thoughts?

I have never noticed a difference in it & a standard column (canceling). I plan to drive mine tomorrow morning and will report back. Don H.

Sounds like you might have the steering wheel hub on the steering shaft upside down.

There should be an indentation on the end of the upper steering shaft at 12 o'clock with the road wheels straight ahead. There should also be a matching indentation on the steering wheel hub at 12 o'clock as well.

I ended up rotating the steering wheel hub 180 degrees and now the turn signal cancels at 1/4 turn. Thanks Don and Jim for your help.
