Need info on color red 1980 Corvette

Looking for id code for paint where to find it, or and location, name of color Red for 1980 and factory ordering information. Would this paint be a lacquer base? Was clear coat used?

1980 Corvette red was called Red. Code 83.

Bill all 1980 Corvettes were painted using lacquer at the St Louis factory. In 1981 Corvettes built at St Louis were painted with lacquer. 1981 Corvettes built in Bowling Green factory did not have lacquer paint and used enamel basements and clear top coats. 1980 Corvette red is Code 83.

Thanks, where can this code be found? Also can anyone provide the manufactures name and part or order number, I would even take an aftermarket number if it’s a close match to original color.

The color code can be found on the trim tag inside the driver's door jamb at the pillar by the hinges. A little plate about the size of a business card.

If you just need paint, your local paint shop should be able to mix it up for you !
