'65 Exhaust Extensions-Welded?

Are the exhaust extensions on a regular undercar exhaust system (2") welded onto the back on the mufflers? I can't see where the Technical Manual addresses that.
I bought some mufflers through Corvette Central based on info from this site. Thanks.

No. The extensions used from 1963-73 were always clamped to the mufflers and NEVER welded. If you find some welded, it happened after St. Louis.

I just received the mufflers from Corvette Central. Will get them put on next week. Looks like they are welded in front and then the exhaust extension in clamped on in the rear.
