    Build sheet, etc

I am trying to locate information on how my car came out from factory. I do not have a build sheet. I know when it was built, when it was delivered to the dealer and the dealer, when it was sold and to whom ...and so on. I spoke to the dealer, Daniels Chevrolet in Colorado Springs, CO hoping that they could replicate the "sticker" but no one knows where records if kept would be. Any advice?

    Greg:

Since you know who it was sold to when new. Have you located the original owner ?? What is the current configuration of your car ? Does it have options or features that you believe may not be original ?? Do you have any other owner history to trace ?

If the original owner can be located, perhaps he / she can confirm the equipment for you. If you believe the current configuration is correct, you can have a replica sticker made.

Without documentation or first hand accounts from day one, it will be difficult to confirm the current equipment 100%.

A good way to start is to list all the options and what the trim tag says and people here could tell you what some of the options could or could not be.

The exclusion code on the trim tag will go a long way to telling you about the trim level an options, unfortunately it won't tell you horse power, but you can come to some conclusions anout it.
Check Nolands Adams book for codes.

Or purchase the NCRS Authentication Library volume one from the NCRS Store if your vehicle is a midyear that publication has the most complete list of trim tag exception codes ever provided in one location.

Thanks guy's. I appreciate all of the responses. I am confident on how the car was optioned, etc. What I am not sure of are the wheels and tires. From early photo's the car had steel wheels and wheel covers. Just don't know if black, white wall or gold lines.

Here is one place. They've been around for years. There are also others.

So is the printing on those window stickers.

Tires are a tough one without one of the original documents...

Greg -- a clue might be the length/configuration of the spare tire carrier hinge and lock bolts [that is, if not changed since new ]. Longer lock bolt with goldlines; the 2 strap hinge bolts are longer with goldlines, and different again (welded nut stop) with KO's.
