54 lower a frame bushings

After installing the o rings on the lower outers the ring seems to not be thick enough. There is still a 16 inch gap between the shaft and ring. This happened on both sides on one side of the a-frame. The other sides seem to fit properly. I guess I will need a thicker o ring in two locations. I assume grease will spew out if this isnt a good seal. I bought these from CC and they said to install them in this location. Anyone run into this? Thanks as always!

Finished frame/suspension in may of this year. I was able to reuse all my original bushings, the lower outer grease retention rings are 3/16 thick and fit with no side play.

Thanks Lynn, I just did mine and CC sends out 1/16 inch 'o" rings. I wish these guys knew what they sell. Im going to have to open it up again. Are your originals o- rings or something else? I really appreciate it.

If you squeeze the A-frame with a clamp, prior to threading the caps on, you will be able to get the o-ring snug with no gap. Thread each cap a little at a time until you have them tight with no gap betwen the cap and rings.
