The siderail pads on my '59 look to be in the same locations as Bob's. Here is the rear pad on the driver's side siderail. I would make sure the pad isn't under the fiberglass cover; mine is too close to that cover. The pad on the passenger's side is further to the rear.

      Joe,

My car has six that I can see without crawling under it.

Interesting placement; three on the drivers side frame rail. One near the front kick up, one in the middle and one near the front leaf spring mount.

The passenger side only has two and they are placed midway from the front of the frame kick up and midway from the front leaf spring mount.

The sixth is in the center of the rear cross member. This one I had to replace when I replaced the rotted cross member. The other five are in their original locations as the body has never been removed. Also, three of those five are not in contact with the body, there is a small gap between them and the body.

Thomas, I don't see photos of your car's bare frame after body lift. I double checked today.

          Joe,

You are correct. The body has never been off and I don't intend to do a body off anytime soon. I think the 71 LS5 will get a body off before the 60. I have 6 more years of college to pay for to get my kids through first.

I was hoping to take a maiden voyage in the 60 this weekend, but I couldn't get the insurance set up today. I suppose I'll spend the weekend detailing the paint. It is coming out real nice so far. The 50 year old laquer is buffing up nicely
