    1965 Corvette Correct Tires Brand?

I have a 1965 Corvette coupe and the build sheet says the tires were:
2P92AA 775 X 15 4 PLY WWW $31.85, but I can not figure out the brand or who the manufacturer was. Please help and suggest new replacement tires also. Thanks, Ed

The OEM tire suppliers by type of tire are shown in the "Exterior" section of your '65 Judging Guide.

Goodyear Power Cushion, Firestone Deluxe Champion, U S Royal Laredo, B.F. Goodrich Silvertown 660 or 770, and General Jet-Air II are the tires listed in the Judging Guide as correct.

Others have told you what the judging guide says. Your next step is to determine how 'correct/original' you want to be...

Finding a set of non-DOT correct/original tires will be a (*&^ of a job and it won't be cheap either! Plus, when you install these tires OR their current day reproductions, you're going to HATE the way the car handles on the road!

So, you're looking at the matrix of deductions listed in the Judging Reference Manual to assess your alternative(s) where you essentially make a tradeoff between originality points scored during Flight Judging and cost/driveability of the car on the road...

Also, note that NCRS judging rules allow the four mounted tires to differ from the spare without penalty during judging. Eventhough, all five tires were 'matched' at the factory, we don't require that aspect of originality.

Why? It lets owners preserve a correct/original spare tire and use different rubber on the driven wheels...

Jack, would the dealer have changed the spare from how the factory delivered?

For instance, if a customer requested a specific tire, I would assume the dealer could of changed all 4 once the car was dealer received the car. If so, would they have also changed the spare to match? Oh, to have a time machine!
