While rebuilding my (manual) window regulators I'm also replacing the coil springs on them. The old springs were clocked for a 1/2 turn preload. The new springs are wound such that you end up with two choices, 1/4 turn or 3/4 turn. Assuming the new springs would be tighter not looser I would assume 3/4 turn but that causes a little more preload than I expected. This is not described in the AIM or shop manual that I can find. Any suggestions?
