Barn Find At Corvettes of Carlisle

Believe it or not the Chip's choice collection has a "barn find" Corvette. Green with a T'bird scoop on the hood and a hurst shifter. Wuz this the same "barn find" that was at Bloomingtown?
My suggestion for this "Barn Find" would be to cover it with a couple feet more of dirt!
I sure miss Chip here at Corvette Carlisle!

The barn finds sure seem to be popular to display these days. I like to see them because it keeps the dream alive that there are still some neat cars lurking in barns across the USA. Being lucky enough to find one would be a thrill.

I was lucky enough to discover a 71Nevada Silver coupe in a barn several years ago. Not a rare car, but a true barn rat that had been sitting undetected for over 20 years. It was a thrill to be the first one to wipe the dust away and drag it out. After many hours and lots of new parts, I brought it back to life and drove it back to the very barn I rescued it from. Here it is on the maiden voyage. "Back to the barn" Happy hunting.

Why is it I can never find barns with Corvettes in them?

My 72 was a "garage find" when the previous owner found it. Over a decade in a garage while the owner was in a nursing home. Thankfully that decade preserved it well.

Been a little over 20 years now, but I found a '67 435 roadster with 17,000 miles on it. It had been stored in the owner's garage since the gas crisis of the early '70's. Had every piece of paper work, inspection receipts, oil change receipts, etc. The only thing that was not original was the center carb and spark plug wires. They came with the car. Only thing wrong with the car was the right front corner was faded from the sun. Never figured that yellow would fade. The car is about 3 miles from me right now, having been driven less than 50 miles since the present owner bought it. He had the original calipers sleeved and the carbs rebuilt and that is it. If there was ever a BowTie

Just dug up this photo of the 71 coming out of the barn. It is the same barn you can see in my earlier picture. Looks better now !! That was a fun day.

Does a non Corvette barn find count?

I was speaking to Sue today, owner of the copper '55 as you walk in the door accross from Bair's They have a real neat disply board shwing the history of the car. It was interesting speaking to hear and hearing the story of how they found it.

it would have been nice if they displayed the sign instead of leaving it in the car where no one could see it! i was hoping to see the engine compartment and talk to the owner, but he seemed to be in swap area all day. if anyone is able to take a picture of the engine compartment please post it.

Here is what my '56 looked like after a 39 year slumber in a garage the owner used as a storage unit. It took 4 hours of work until you could even tell there was a car in the garage. Granted this is after a quick wash...
