    67 conv hardtop info

I recently got a 67 convert with a hardtop. It is Goodwood Green with Saddle interior. What color should the headliner be? What color should the painted trim on the top be, and is it gloss or semi-gloss? Thanks for any help you can give.

    George,
The headliner should match the interior color of the car, as should the moldings. Take your time in replacing the headliner, as the fit can be a little tight and the backing on the replacement headliner's doesn't give much. Regarding the sheen of the paint, I think when I redid my teal interior heardtop the paint I got was from one of the big repro companies (maybe Corvette Central) and it was a pretty good match. I can not recall the sheel though. Polish up the heads of the screws that attach the moldings to the hardtop when you have them off - it makes all the difference in the world. Use an ice pick or awl to line up the holes in the moldings with the holes in the hardtop before screwing them back in as you sure don't want to wallow out the original holes.
Use some plastic spackle "knives" of wooden paint stirrer sticks to massage the headliner into place and under the lips. It's not a hard process, but takes time to do correctly.
Good luck with your project. Regards. ARA
