A212CW? Or is there another type air filter? I thought the A212CW fit both the open and closed air cleaners.

      Scott------

They are not the same. The open element air cleaners did use the AC A212CW. Closed element use the AC A329CW.

Thanks, Joe. I clearly did not know that.

If you're talking about an "original-in-every-way" type filter element, regardless of whether an A212CW or an A329C, the only way is to find a very old NOS piece. These show up on eBay from time-to-time and also at Chevrolet and Corvette swap meets like Carlisle. Expect to pay BIG $$$$$$$---like possibly several thousand dollars.

I say FORGET IT; don't be a fool. Obtain a current AC A212CW for about 10 bucks and be done with it.

I knew the original A212CWs were crazy expensive and have only seen photos. Where does one find the A329CW?

Its a smaller subset of the 212, know that you need the earlier version that says BEST WAY TO PROTECT, not just PROTECT printing, and the prices will be a little softer than the real deal 212's, but not much.

Ronald, I really like the $10 A212CW that Joe mentioned.

Didn't Mark Donnally recently mention that someone was going to offer a dead on repo for one or both of these filters in the near future?

Don't be confused, Donnally did say that. I heard him.

Joe, when I was a GM tech I can't tell you how many of those original air filters I tossed in the dumpster, If I would have known how many thousands of dollars I was throwing away.

I think even the current Delco filter are just plain with nothing really to even tell you who makes them. as everything is out sourced these days Delco Parts, or at least most of them are.

A real 329 isn't going to be $10, nor would a perfect repro get close to that.

Think about it, there were a few complaints here when the "wish it was a repro filter's" price increased to $60.

If you want made in Mexico or China stamped on your filter ... maybe $30.

Good, I wanted to make sure he didn't not say that, or I might've been confused.
