Unfortunately it's how I got it back from John. Check out my before and after shots. I tried to remove the stray paint with various strippers and solvents. It would soften/dissolve the cardboard before any paint came with it. I finally gave up and just cross my fingers it's not an issue.

That's really too bad Jerod and sorry to hear that. His work looks nice and I'm surprised someone that does nice work would be so lax while handling your tray.

It would stop me from sending my tray to him.....

Jerod,

My factory one had runs on the side and all sorts of paint/adhesive on the bottom.

I remember being told that the trays were stacked up 20 or more to stack and then the painter sprayed around the outsides of them. That is why there is a 1.5-2 inch ring below the upper lip.

Don't worry about yours - will judge just fine.

Most important part is the flocking on the inside and the date stamp on the bottom.
