Anyone out there offering services to "type" the lettering on Foil A/C Labels?

Is there anyone out there offering services to "type" the lettering on Foil Air Conditioner Compressor Labels?

After reading the archives, this is what we are apparently supposed to do...
..."The font is Courier, and the size is about 15 point."
..."You then need to fill in the date code field using an old IBM Selectric typewriter"
    ..."Special Ribbon"

You must have stumped them all and is a great question. This eBay seller might consider it since he/she does the blue VIN certification labels using old typewriters.

Thanks, that's a great lead. I emailed them- I'll let everyone know if it works out!

Which is nice, but the original blue certification labels were not typed. So, that's not correct either.

What's the currently accepted method for applying the data?

            Jerod,
I can tell you how I do it.

1- I first take a copy of the sticker
2- then tape it to the typwriter roller
3- type your # on the paper and if it looks good
4- tape your sticker exactly over the copy and pray that you don't hit the wrong key that you will have to repeat about 6 to 10 times to make sure it leaves a good impression.

Make sure you set the hardest hit setting on the typwriter.
The ribbon will not transfer well to the sticker so I use some carbon paper and put it over the sticker when I do the last few hits.

I'm sure that there is something better than carbon paper out there but it seems to do the job and looks like the ones I have seen.

I do this on the A-6 compressors I rebuild and it takes about 1 hour if your good.

The odds of not spacing and hitting the wrong key come into play so BE CARFULL.

I have only done 3 and do not do them other than on a compressor I rebuild.

            YOU CAN DO IT!

At least you got some of them on this TDB jump started with "how-to's". And I learned something, too.
