I have almost a whole set of NOS weatherstrip for my 69 coupe. I seem to remember a post awhile back ( that I can't seem to find) and some one said they would use anything but NOS rubber. Does anyone know what the reasoning was? Thanks Brad

Re: 69 NOS or repro weatherstrip
I can't speak for the article you saw but my concern with true NOS w-strips would be the age and how much the strip has deteriorated over the years. Maybe it's fine. But rubber that is old and hardened, althought NOS, may not be something you want to install now. Not sure how well the stuff ages sitting on a shelf for 40 years.- Top

Re: 69 NOS or repro weatherstrip
Based on very recent experience I bought NOS weather stripping for my 70 Convertible. It was too hard and the doors were a bear to close. I ended up pulling the NOS ws off and using Corvette Rubber ws. Problem solved.
