'58 trim plate for 4 speed & ashtray

I am looking for some guidance on the correct mounting nuts for the 4 speed shift trim piece that covers the shift hole and holds the ashtray.

Does anyone have and pics and/or description on the nuts that are on the underside of the transmission tunnel, that the two bolts mount to? Are these nuts affixed to a plate that is supposed to be riveted to the tunnel or are the nuts simply fiber glassed to the underside of the tunnel?

Currently I have what appears to 1/2' holes w/bevel cut; however there is no nut or mounting plate to screw the bolts into.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Don, These are what's available in reproduction. I believe they clip into a square hole in the FG. You can see the tangs in the pic.

Rich, you are correct but they go into the round holes that Don has.

Paul is right. They're round. I just went out to the garage and these are on the '59 I have apart. The holes are apx 3/8" round.
