Points Eliminator

Hello to All,
I am interested in replacing the ignition points in my distributor with a points eliminator module.
I have looked at systems from Pertronix, MSD, Mallory, Accel, TI specialties, and Lectric Limited.

Questions:
1. Does anyone have experience with/or comments on the performance of any of these systems?
2. What is the NCRS judging impact?

Can tell you that I've had a Petronix for 10 plus years and no problems. Many Petronix have gone through the NCRS Judging without any problems if the installation is properly done.

The ones with the extra wire is a dead give-away to the judges.

On a pv if discovered is a no no.

Won't help/hurt the performance of an engine presuming the distributor isn't otherwise suffering from wear and in need of an overhaul anyway. Many use them as a band-aid and claim miracles.

I have had the Petronix on my 66 for about 4 years now and am very satisfied with it. I cannot offer any info about judging however.

I installed the Lectric Limited breakerless electronic igniton part # 38131 on my 69 SB two years ago and have never looked back.

It only has one wire and can not be detected unless the distributor cap is removed.

Conversion took less than an hour.

I installed the Pertronix 1182LS did not have to remove the distributor. Has given me no trouble that was about 2 years ago.

I had the standard Pertronix on my 63 L-76 for many years, and chaged to their II model about 6 years ago. The proof is in the pudding; I have not had to change plugs in nearly 10k miles and it will pull strong to redline anytime (If I'm so inclined to push it) without missing a beat. If you want your car to "drive" worry free, it's the only way to go. The horror stories and having to bring a set of points with you are a thing of the past. Hard to stop progress unless you like changing plugs often and the skun knuckles that goes with that.
