Does the water pump have to come off to get the support off to install a new suooort or just take out the bolts from water pump, do you need to re gasket the pump and if so what type of sealent? thanks. Brad.

Brad -

The pump needs to come off so you can clean the gasket surfaces on the block and the pump before installing the new bracket and all (4) gaskets. Reassembly is a lot easier if you use 3/8"-16 studs in the two top holes to "hang" the sandwich of parts on without smearing sealer off the parts and gaskets, then install the two lower bolts, then remove the studs and replace with the other two bolts.

You'll need to support the engine from below, preferably from the pan rails, not from the pan itself.
