    67 wheels

I saw an ad on cragislist for 67 Camaro Corvette ralley wheels 14 X 6 for sale. Is that the correct size for a Corvette. I know my 74 is 15 X 8 shouldn't the wheels be at a minimum 15"?

    Thanks

    Todd

Are the wheels stamped with the size? Is there a 14 X 6 ralley wheel, or could the person selling the wheels have measured them wrong? Would a 15 X 6 be correct for all C2's?

          Thanks

Todd, 63-66 use 15X5-1/2 on the steel wheel with 15x6 on the Knock offs.

Only on the Z/28 (and the COPO 9737 Sports Car Conversion); all other '69 Camaro rally wheels were 14x6 and 14x7.

                Todd,

Starting about 1967 or so GM wheels where stamped with a 2-letter code to the right of the valve hole and were also date coded in the same area.
A 67 Camaro SS w/DB rally wheel would be stamped "DG".
Example: "K-1-7", "4", (valve hole), "10", "DG" would be date coded April 10, 1967 and made by Kelsey-Hayes in Romulus, MI. Also, "14 X 6 JJ" would be stamped on the inside part of the rim which would be covered by the tire.

1963-1964 Corvette steel wheels are stamped "15 X 5 1/2 K" with a date code and 1965-1966 Corvette steel wheels are stamped "15 X 5 1/2 JK" also with a date code. These stampings can not be seen when a tire is installed.

1967 Corvette rally wheels are stamped "15 X 6 JK" and a "DC" to the right of the valve hole.

                Dave

                  Re: 67 wheels

Thanks so much for the information. I was looking for Rally wheels for my 74, when I came across the add for the "67 Corvette" wheels. I knew they would not fit my 74, but for $140.00 it looked like a good deal for all 4. One day I will own a 66; so if I see something I feel I could use and it is a good deal, I try to get it.

                    Hi Todd,
One more point as to the Chevy Ralleye wheels, make sure that the letter codes follow what is described on earlier posts. Chevy did offer the same look for Monte Carlos and Chevelles but the offset is different on those wheels due to not needing the clearence of the Corvette brake caliper.

That is good information to have. I could see where that would pose a problem.
