I need to clarify, the SERVICE part number for a 1970 POA Valve. I'm looking to purchase one.

I just had the factory AC system on my 70 Chevelle TOTALLY rebuilt by Classic Auto Air in Tampa. MANY of the Chevelle guys swear by them, so I shipped mine to them (from Okla). They specialize in virtually any and all kinds of AC systems, particularly older GM systems. They can rebuild POA and expansion valves (I have ZERO clue how they do it) and then can calibrate them for original R12 or 134 (I kept the Chevelle on R12). After my experience with them, I also have a very high respect for their work.
I replaced the main hose assembly, dryer, bought a flush kit and thoroughly flushed the system, drained the oil from the compressor, poured in the recommended quantity of refrigerant oil, evacuated the system for 18hrs (yes, 18hrs) and charged it with R12. It's now colder than when new!
I would give them a call and check on a POA valve, or send them your old one.

I had them rebuild my POA and expansion valve and am very satisfied. I wanted to keep my stamped numbers and date so I had to tell them that and they didn't resurface and destroy the numbers. Send your requests in with the part as they do a bunch parts and if your request is not with part it will fall through the cracks.
