    1962 Chassis Paint

NCRS Tech & Judging Guide specifies - "low grade, slightly dulled gloss black; not high-gloss or flat". Can someone recommend a spray can paint that will fit this discription for my 62 chassis.

    Anton-----

The late Dale Pearman, 1962 afficionado extraordinaire, used to always recommend John Deere Blitz Black. However, personally, I don't think it's quite right. I think that GM #1050104 is closer. This paint is GM-discontinued but available in reproduction (probably manufactured by the original supplier to GM). However, as far as I know, it does not come in spray cans, but only in gallon cans.

      Thanks Joe,
Performing a NCRS search earlier I found that a member preferred John Deere Hi-Gloss Black #TYT25313 over the Blitz Black. Do you have any experience with this??

How close is the Quanta spray paint?:

I do not. However, VERY few original underhood or chassis finishes on Corvettes were high gloss black-----VERY, VERY few.
