I've read the judging awards information on the TBD. Does a NCRS member have to be a chapter member in order to participate in Sportsman at a Regional or National event?

I think the rule is pretty well spelled out. From the 8th Edition Judging Reference manual Section 12 page 58 Item 2A:
2. NCRS SPORTSMAN AWARD REQUIREMENTS
Within the award year or three preceding calendar years, a member must
A. BE A MEMBER OF ANY NCRS CHAPTER. Membership must be carried during all points accumulation. (Chapter, at its discretion may wave NCRS membership for first time participant at a chapter meet.)
That says you have to be a chapter member, but that membership may be waived if you are first time participant at the chapter level, does not say it can be waived anywhere else. -

Okay; I guess the sportsman ribbons given for participating in an event are intertwined with the Sportsmans Award program. I have Sportmans ribbons for National and Chapter events and I am trying to accumulate them for a Regional. I will rejoin an NCRS chapter.Comment
