I have a one owner 1960 and want to remove all of the oil change sticker from the end of the door and door pillar. What product would help me remove them? Thanks in advance.

Re: Removing oil change stickers
Have you tried 3M general purpose adhesive remover? You could saturate the tag and then gently rub it off.
This is used for weatherstrip adhesive and other stuff and is safe on paint, but better do a test area first just to be sure.

3M also has a release agent that can be sprayed on to remove the adhesive from the stickers. The part number is #08908.- Top

Re: Removing oil change stickers
I'd be careful about the heat gun on your paint!! I've used Goof Off and it works great. Just squirt a little at the top edge and gently peel back. Add a little more as you go - keep peeling back and keep adding small amounts and it will come right off.

How about leaving the stickers? I think they're very cool..part of the cars history....My '69 has has one from 1971 with the mileage written on it, the name of the business, the seven digit phone number, etc.1969 Riverside Gold Coupe, L71, 14,000 miles. Top Flight, 2 Star Bowtie.- Top

Re: Removing oil change stickers
my 65 has 4 or 5 stickers all on top of each other stuck to the door, these are from the original selling dealership, is there any way I can get them off and separated without destroying them?

Re: Removing oil change stickers
I like the idea of keeping them -- they are part of the car's history.
I have been told alcohol will dissolve most adhesives, but have never had the chance to try it myself. Remember isopropyl has water in it, and that may damage the stickers. I have used 3M adhesive remover, but never on anything that I cared to save. It is a petroleum based solvent so it might cause something written in ink to smudge or dissolve. With any product -- test a small area first to be sure it does no damage.Terry- Top

Jimmy, peanut butter works. If the stickers are slick covered paper, peanut butter might not do any harm to them. Gary....NCRS Texas Chapter
