67 Front Valance Lower Bolts - Need Pic

Hey Guys,

Looking for a pic and description of the two bolts that attach the bottom of the front valance to the brackets hanging down just outboard of the bumper brackets. Would like a pic of the bolts in place on the valance if possible. Thanks.

I don't have my 67 here at the moment but the bolts you refer to are 1/4" course thread with phillips pan head and are 5/8" long. They have a lock washer and a flat washer.

Thanks Tim. That is what I have installed, it just looks horrible and I wanted to see a picture of them installed to make sure I did it correctly. If you have a chance, I would really appreciate it.

It definitely does. Two questions though, I don't see a lock washer that I thought should be present and are the bolts suppose to be painted? Thanks.

I will get you a picture today and post later. There should be a flat and lock washer and it'a all painted with the car.

As I recall the screws are positioned differently on a small block and a big block, which do you have?

Yes, I believe they are painted as the core support was attached at painting.
If you look closely you can see the lock washer.
I believe position is the same BB or SB.
Picture is actually of the BB radiator clearing valance notch.

Kirk, looking at Ray's picture, it's setup for a BB. Best I can recall Ray has a 435hp BB. Anyway. It's set up that way as the radiator had to moved to accommodate the BB.

The unused hole in the picture is for a small block setup. That's the way my 63 is setup.

This is a picture of my bumper nuts but the valence screw shows in it:



Believed to be the original but refinished (I put some touchup paint on it as it was originally painted.) It has a lock washer and a washer per the 67 AIM. This is a setup for a 67/327/300

That would be correct for all 327 and 427 engines for 66 and 67. (except L88)
Starting in 66, the core support angle was changed which moved the bottom of the support further forward.

That's my '67 in the photo, and it's a small-block; '63-'65 used the rearmost hole, and when the radiator support was tilted further rearward for '66, the forward holes were added (and the rear holes were left in the part).
