    70 hood air dam

I saved the center section of the original foam to seal the hood to the top of the radiator support. It is re-installed exactly as I found it.

I am looking for pictures of the two side pieces to see how far out they go across the top of the support.

I purchased the foam from the hood Doc. His center piece is a little different in length so I need to cut down his side pieces a little so it would appear.

    350/350 no air.

    Thanks, Bill

    Hi Bill,
On my 71 the center piece is 8 3/4" long, the left-side piece is 8" long, and the right side piece is 6" long. They're pretty roughly cut, so I'd think the length could vary.
The reproductions I looked at from Dr. R were noticably smaller in profile and quite a different foam.
    Hope this helps!
    Regards,
    Alan

It appears to me that the seals were on the core support before the fan shroud was installed because the upper shroud bracket made an impression in the center piece of foam.

      HI Alan,

The foam is quite a bit different. I may have to go on a scavanger hunt at Carlisle.

The picture of your original matches the center piece I was able to reuse. The other two were missing when I bought the car. I just did not know it at the time.

      Thanks,

      Bill

        Hi Bill,
It LOOKS to my eye as though the large piece in the middle was cut from one of the pieces of seal that was installed on each side of the aluminium radiator, and the the thinner pieces were cut from one of the horizontal seals.
You might well find some original pieces you an use at Carlisle.
        Regards,
        Alan

          Great idea Alan.

          Thanks.

The pieces around my radiator were shot so I did replace those with repro stuff. Seemed to work fine but I do not want to mix an match on top.
