    74 LS4 Exhaust Manifolds

I am looking for exhaust manifolds form my 74 LS4, they are my big purchase at Carlisle. Does anyone know what years of corvette have the same part number? Are there other Chevrolet's with the same part number with AIR? Thanks

All the 454 BBC Corvettes used the same manifold casting numbers.

      casting numbers as requested

      left side 3969869 - 72, 73, 74

      right side 3880828 - also 72, 73, 74

you may want to check the casting dates for your '74 if you intend to have it flight judged

The manifold casting numbers are as Carl mentions. However, keep in mind that these casting numbers were used for BOTH AIR and non-AIR manifolds. So, the finished PART NUMBERS of the manifolds are different for each. Of course, the finished part numbers appear nowhere on the manifolds (except for the non-K-19 manifolds for which the casting number and part numbers are the same).

Also, these manifolds are dated if that means anything to you.

No other Chevrolet cars or trucks used the same exhaust manifolds as Corvette with one minor exception. 1966 full size Chevrolets with L-72 427 and K-19 used the 3880828 right side manifold which would be the same as 1966-74 Corvettes with K-19. Of course, the dates from an original 1966 manifold would not be the same as an original 1974. I don't expect there will be too many 1966 full size Chevrolets with L-72's lying around to donate an exhaust manifold, anyway.

I think that even the most masochistic just would be hard pressed to read the dates on the judging field.

I agree but I was just pointing out that there are dates. Dates seem to be so important to some folks that they'd be concerned about dates on the crankshaft. To me, dates are just a "curiosity".

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and the exhaust by products smell like duck ****, then it probably is a duck. I am making fun of the people like you are talking about, dates that cannot be seen, and make no material difference

If I am not mistaken the dates are inside the exhaust manifold and would not be seen unless there were off of the car. Is this correct?

                Thanks for all the help.

A mirror works just fine, if you know where to look and want to take the time.
