Found 2nd Order Copy today

I was replacing the tank neck seal and this is what I saw.



I could grab it with two fingers so I gave it a tug to test the glue and it came loose.





Cleaned it up with a soft paint brush.





The first one was under the carpet behind the driver's seat.

Amazing to think that piece of paper was still loosely attached like that after all these years. Looks like it's in great condition, too.

hey ken...there must be something about 72 LT1'S. i owned one a few years back. i also found mine folded up on the right side. i always thought they were on the left side. low and behold after 4-5 other owners, i was the lucky one who found it on the right side. great find.

My last day production '71 was found on the right side as well. Maybe the left handed order copy man retired and got replaced by a righty

Thanks for all the great comments guys.
One reason, I think, it was in such good condition is the fact that the car only has 42,000 miles and has spent all of its life, in a garage and never sat out in the rain etc. and I only wash it about once every five years.
Almost forgot to mention, it has never been stored in a heated or temperature controlled garage. So, here in the great white north, that means it has been in frozen, suspended animation, for half its life. But I have been using the Car Bag, for storage, for close to 20 years.

Are the Order Copies you found under the carpet unique to 1972 or would they also be found in a 1970 LT-1?

Patrick, they could be found on any car, just unusual to find a second copy. '72 did have the VIN on the build sheet, first year of that
