    1963 Corvette Sales Brochures

    Hello All,

I've got some original 1963 Corvette sales brochures, some have a black car on the front, while some have a red car on the cover. The insides appear to be the same.

    Why are they different?

Kurt, I have a red and a black I got in late '62 and the other in '63. Both are legit, although I think my red car brochure is more clear and defined than the black one. I was told when I got the second one later at the dealership that Mktg just changed the color of the car to improve the looks. later spoke with a Campbell-Ewald guy (D.E.D.,Jr.) who confirmed.

If you look closely, you'll see that in one brochure, it shows 2 bar KO spinners, the other shows 3 bar spinners.

There are some other differences too, but right now, I can't recall them.

Both are legit, "early and late".

If you compare closely you will note a couple of minor differences as Chuck says. I don't recall them from memory either. I believe the black is much scarcer than the red. A 63 brochure came isside ( folded) one of the 63 corvette news issues. Back then the Corvette news were mailed inside a paper envelope.

The driver's outside mirror is also different; a longer base on the black car. I believe that covers the differences-at least those I recall.
