Is there anyone out there who is a good friend of David Nash,or is associated with Corvettes of Houston? I have the title of my car being sold in 1989 from Corvettes of Houston to Dane Isenmann, who now lives in Las Vegas. Neither one will give me any help. I was hoping that somewhere at that Dealership, there is a title of who traded that car. Wishful thinking. My serial# is 194376S125916. It is a Nassau Blue, 66 big block with factory a/c. Any help would be appreciated. DUTCH

You might try the Texas Dept of Transportation, and tell them you need help with determining the previous owners, if you have the Texas title # and your VIN it will help them. There maybe forms involved.

Re: Corvettes of Houston Inc. David Nash Owner
Reuben, thanks for the information, but it seems that the Texas DMV throws away records up to 1992. My car lived in Houston in the 1980s. There is where my history quest lies unless fate changes.DUTCH- Top

I have bought quite a few sets of Lloyds floor mats for my C5 and C6 Corvettes from them. They keep them in stock and gave good service for what thats worth. Mike- Top

Mike: Maybe the next trip you take over to Corvettes of Houston you could be so kind as to ask them if they could find a copy of my old car title that they sold in 1989. Thanks, Dutch- Top

My trys at getting any information from them has been to a deaf ear.

My shipping report is Dealer code 0 in Zone 17, Chevrolet Zone Office Memphis, TN. There is no original dealer listed. I called the TN. DMV and they still have the first title sale on record but because of the right of privacy act, they could not give it. That is very frustrating. Do you have any ideas? Harry- Top

Harry. If they wont release it, that does not look good. You might try a statement similar to the one that the Texas DMV uses about gathering infor without contacting the individuals for 'research por;poses', but I would not hold my breath. Has all the activity been in that state. Could any ohter state have records on that car that might lead to background information? Good luckBruce- Top

Re: Corvettes of Houston Inc. David Nash Owner
I ran into the same privacy issue looking for the original or any subsequent owner of my '82. The La public safety just slammed the door citing the privacy law. When I was looking for the '59 I owned in the 60's, Texas DOT gave me info to the early 80's but now the privacy issue has hindered that, stopped me dead on my current 'vette search.- Top

Harry:
Review the state website and see who is authorized to obtain the records. Then, pursue someone in one of those fields that will get it for you. When I hit the same block wall in another state, I contacted Corvette clubs in the area (state) and asked for help with any information on my car. Two weeks later I received in the mail a complete history of my car with no redactions and don't have any idea where it came from or who to thank. Someone can get access to the information and as stated above, many times for "research purposes."

Some how my car made it to Texas. I have the 1989 sales title from Corvettes of Houston to Dane Isenmann, who now lives in Los Vegas. I called him twice and he would not talk to me? then my car made it to NY, I think jockeys were moving Vettes East for fast sales. Harry- Top
