    1969 Power Brake Booster Nuts

Since I have my brake booster out, I thought I would inquire about where to find the proper nuts which hold it to the fire wall. I understand that they are of special type. Are they available from GM? Fastenal?

Could someone describe what they are/look like?

    Thanks,

    Craig

They're really not all that special. They are a stover-type, hex lock-nut of thread size 3/8-16 and 21/64" thick. They are made of GM 301M material (SAE grade 8) and are zinc plated. They're still available from GM under the original part number of GM #9422297.

A tip: as difficult as these nuts are to get at, I think if it were me I'd use standard 3/8-16, grade 8 hex nuts and use with Locktite 242 thread locking compound. This way, you won't have to struggle so much running down the lock-nuts 1/16 of a turn at a time.
