    Vapor-Lock, Percolation, and LL100 Revisited

Well, despite my high hopes pinned on LL100's superior fuel characteristics, the L79 continues to sputter and buck down the road after blending the av-gas with the non-ethanol premium pump gas at the rate of 50/50. It was about 96* here yesterday and I had to suffer the indignity of 4 different 'rest stops' on the way to the airport to collect the fuel and a similar number of stops on the way home with the 'magic' blend in the tank. $5.29 a gallon, by the way!

Thanks to all for additional thoughts on remedies beyond my short-sighted view of things. I'm just stubborn enough to believe that people didn't stop driving their cars in hot weather back in 1966, and I won't rest until I get this thing licked! A wise man once told me, "It's nothing money can't fix!"

I agree. I remember sitting for hours in traffic on my way to the beach even with the ac on. NO overheating problems. Back in the day, I used 93 Amoco and if I just got paid, I treated the old 64 GTO to Sunoco 260. At that time, I could not afford a Corvette.

      Marlin,

If you have a spare ignition coil swap it out just to try..

Possibly blocked gas cap vent, weak fuel pump, clogged filter/sock or all the usual suspects on the ignition side. Next time it quits, check right away if you're lacking spark or gas.

Yes, there is definitely something else going on here.
