There's an eBay seller offering a restored '65 396 L78 LIST 3124 carburetor which originally "had a 1966 date code", now changed to 573 "using the same tooling as Holley to do this"; supposedly to make it more valuable.

Can DB members please elucidate me on the process.
And if you're going to re-date, why choose the 3rd week of July, 1965, when probably the last of the "IF" coded blocks had already been assembled (complete with carb) by July 15, give or take a day ?
