Loud Knocking Noise in Braking
As I just purchased my 65 Vette, I had it out tonight for only the second time and upon braking, I have developed a loud metal to metal knocking type noise coming from the right front wheel. This only occurs upon braking and there is no pull while braking. The longer we drove the louder it became. Its not a ticking noise but resembles someone striking the frame rail with a sledge hammer. Any ideas?

Michael, An easy check would be to pull the wheel and look at the disc brake pad. Could be pad worn or worse possibility would be wheel bearing. Good luck, Don H. -

Michael, check the wheel bearing like Don said, but check the rotor first and make sure it's not cracked. Also check the tie rod ends and ball joints, it will be one of these four things.

Michael, I forgot the caliper bolts. Loose caliper bolts can also cause your problem.
