1970 Factory available convertible top colors

My 1970 corvette convertible is in need of a new top. I'm not sure of the original color but the one on it is beige. Is there a code anywhere that tell what color the original top was on a 1970? After searching the net and other sources, some say only 2 top colors were available from the factory, white or black. Some say beige was also available. Does anyone know which is right? Does anyone have a recommendation of a vendor who supplies the best top? Prices don't seem to vary that much. Please help.

1970 had three soft top colors available: White Black and Tan. Last year for tan.

Unless you have some documentation for the car, or the original top remains, there is no way to tell the original soft top color.

As to the rest of your questions: I will let those with topless cars comment.

Do a search on "1970 Convertible top". You'll find a lot of good info. The consensus (on both our forum and the other one) seems to be that Al Knoch is the way to go.
