I hate to ask this but I switched from 350 to 365hp and I was trying to get the correct pulley set-up. I know the nightmare the 350hp is but maybe the 365 is simpler. It does have power steering. LICS lists a separate water pump pulley for the 365 but no part number. I hate to buy one I already have as I have a small collection trying to get the 350hp ones right. Does anyone know the correct w/p pulley and possibly the alternator pulley. I am presently using the std alternator fan with the fan and pulley made together but it just barely touches the rub shield on the power steering pump. I do have the spacer behind the fan on the alternator. I went to the archives first but was more confused than before I went. Any help would be appreciated. Mike

Re: 65 365 w/air pulley
You are correct that the L76 air combo is simpler, but the fact that you are retaining the power steering re-complicates the situation. Water pump pulley on my early '65 365-air car is # 3848904, as shown below. This does not agree with the AIM UPC C60 sheet C2, item 1 (calls for 3850979 for L76), but the P&A30 July '65 Rev. says the ...904 is correct [double 6_9/32" dia.] Pics of the "904" below.
Of course you'll need the 3858533 crank pulley.
Let me think about the alternator pulley, but off-hand it might be the 3_3/64" dia. separate pulley / fan # 3846180 service ? after 10-64 ? [I forget].

I'd be surprised if you find anything published on pulley usage for the 365hp with power steering, as that combination was never available (due to the extended front sump area of the 6-quart oil pan interfering with the power cylinder).- Top

Re: 65 365 w/air pulley
Hi John, They used the 5 quart pan with it. I read an article sometime in the past about this but have no way of knowing if it was the gospel. Thanks, Mike- Top

Re: 65 365 w/air pulley
If an L-76 was ever manufactured with a 5 quart oil pan, it would have to have had a specific suffix code so that the assembly plant could identify it as such (for use with power steering applications). I know of no such code for an L-76 with 5 quart oil pan. Ergo, I don't think such an L-76 was manufactured. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

John and Joe, That was nothing I knew and wasn`t trying to say that they came that way. I would love to have the knowledge and experience that the two of you have. Thanks, Mike- Top
