Harry
I think that it uses a 3/16 rivet.

Re: Trim Tag rivet hole on 66 VETTE
Agree with bill. By measuring the back side of the rivet(which would be oversize after being crimped), viewing the front size, and being very familiar with these rivets I concur with him. Back side after being expanded on my trim tag measures.225. 3/16 is .187- Top

Re: Trim Tag rivet hole on 66 VETTE
thanks, what I want to do is drill the old rivet out,and put in a new rivet. So you would say that I would use a 3/16 inch bit. Then what would be the lenght of that rivet that I use? Is there a certain size cup used that holds the trim tag? DUTCH- Top

Re: Trim Tag rivet hole on 66 VETTE
A drill bit could possibly drill off center because of the draw pin that is still inside the rivet. What I would do is carefully so you don't gouge the back side, is use a sharp chisel and shear off the back side of the rivet, then drill it from the front with one size smaller drill bit then a 3/16- Top
