Tach cable
I have 66 BB and ordered tach cable listed as 27" for 65-67. I only needed drive cable and when I tried to install discovered my cable currently in car is shorter and I believe is the 243/4" listed for 64 model listed in suppliers catalog. Not sure if the cable in my car is the correct length or if supplier listing is incorrect. Any advise on the correct length cable for 1966?

I went through this on my 64. Different years are also different colors so it's nice to get the correct length AND color. I found that different suppliers have different ideas about what is correct so you should cross reference all the big suppliers and see if you get one that agrees with what you have. Sometimes if you use one that is too long it will have to bend more and cause the needle to bounce. Did the shorter one you have fit well, or would more length make sense? -

My short cable works fine and I am almost certain it is the original.Comment

I don't know if SBs are different than BBs, but my what I believe to be original 66 SB cable housing is 22-3/4 and over all length is 23-3/4Comment

The P & A catalog describes a cable length of 24 1/8" when used with a 23" casing length. Part #3866126.
